Subcommittees

Descriptions and information about the six standing subcommittees of the San Diego Crystal Intergroup District Committee. Current action items for each committee are listed on the right.

Admissions, Nominations & Policy
  1. Certifies meetings to be member groups of CMA.
  2. Obtains and maintains contact information for groups and their GSRs.
  3. Qualities nominees to be District Committee Members.
  4. Ensures that all member groups in the area adhere to CMA's 12 Steps and 12 Traditions and, where appropriate, CMA's 12 Concepts.

Event Planning
  1. Planning and producing events in the area such as conventions, conferences, roundups, retreats and social events including dances, movies nights, etc.
  2. with respect to conventions, conferences, roundups and retreats, applying for and obtaining approval from PACMA that the event is an officially recognized CMA event.

Hostpitals & Institutions
Responsible for carrying CMA's message of recovery to addicts in hospitals, jails, prisons, rehabs, treatment centers, sober living houses, etc.
  • Speakers are needed for all H&I meetings. Anyone available and interested please inform the H&I committee (email).
Information & Outreach
  1. Ensuring that approved CMA literature and chips are available to all groups in the district.
  2. Developing a newsletter for the area.
  3. Establishing and maintaining a district web site and local telephone information line.
  4. Publishing meeting directories for the area.
  • Recruiting new members to help on the subcommittee.
  • Working on getting a meeting going in North County.
  • Looking for people willing to help start or offer support to new meetings (email).
Literature
  1. Responsible for developing, revising, translating, and publishing literature (and other forms of media, audiovisual materials and special items) in order to strengthen CMA as a whole and carry the CMA message.
  2. Represent the District at the Assembly and World Service level in order to bring forward literature for the fellowship.

Structure & Finance
Responsible for budgeting, expenditures, fund raising and, when necessary, recommending amendments to the Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation.
